Steve Kubicek leveraged his Agriculture Economics degree and experience on an Oklahoma family farm to launch a sixteen-year career in the global fertilizer industry. He progressively increased his management responsibilities through twelve different sales, marketing, and business development roles, including co-directing a U.S. dealer sales network and leading the international sales and business development activities of a major fertilizer company. His ability to develop and lead top-performing sales teams landed him another twelve year career in the metals industry with the firm’s sister company. While serving this Fortune 500 copper and gold company for a combined ten years as Vice President of Sales and Vice President of Marketing, he oversaw billions of dollars in annual sales. He was elected to the Board of Directors of the industry’s Copper Club and served as a member of the Executive Advisory Committee for the International Copper Association. Recognized as an expert in international commercial negotiations, following retirement he worked with global miners, smelters, and traders as a consultant, arbitrator, and expert witness in commercial litigation. Simultaneously he pursued personal interests, including writing, real estate ventures, and angel investing. For example, he co-invested to found Vertical Learning Curve (VLC), the developer and producer of the world’s first 3D, virtual-reality-based Executive MBA program. He also served on VLC’s senior management team and the company’s board. With nearly three decades of U.S. and international corporate executive experience, he has traveled to more than twenty-five countries, and christened the Japanese-built cargo ship M.S. Ratu Tembaga. An ordained deacon, he has taught adult Bible studies through his church. His passion is to inspire and motivate. He believes that the lessons of experience are precious gifts to be shared for the encouragement of others.
